Tamika Williams is an accomplished educator, leader, and author with over 24 years of experience in the field of education. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce, a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington, and an Educational Diagnostician Certification from Lamar University.
Her extensive career spans a wide range of roles, including Special Education Teacher, General Education Teacher, Instructional Specialist, Transition Supervisor, Section 504 and Special Education Coordinator, Coordinator of Behavior Psychological Services, and Director of Special Education. Tamika's leadership has been instrumental in shaping inclusive practices and fostering student success through cutting-edge approaches and data-driven strategies.
As a contributing author to Centering Our Voices: The Brilliance, Persistence, and Significance of Black Women Educators, Tamika shares powerful insights into the transformative contributions of Black women in education while reflecting on her personal journey of leadership, advocacy, and innovation.
A highly sought-after speaker and presenter, Tamika is known for her engaging and insightful sessions. She has presented at the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators (TABSE) on the critical topic of Emotion Regulation and the impact of Emotional Quotient Intelligence (EQI) on decision-making, both personally and professionally. Additionally, she served as an expert panelist for the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), where she discussed trends, transformative strategies, and innovative practices in special education.
Tamika is also a Certified Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Instructor and has delivered countless sessions on verbal de-escalation techniques, equipping educators and leaders with tools to manage challenging situations effectively.
Passionate about empowering educators and fostering inclusion, Tamika brings a wealth of knowledge on federal and state-funded programs such as IDEA-B, Early Childhood, and the Regional Day School for the Deaf (RDSPD). Her ability to integrate progressive instructional methods and practical strategies has established her as a respected and influential voice in the field.
