In this session, educators will explore effective strategies for utilizing small group instruction in middle school mathematics to support the diverse needs of all students. Participants will engage in tasks designed to demonstrate how to create dynamic small group environments that foster collaboration, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. We will discuss techniques for grouping students strategically, differentiating instruction, and utilizing formative assessments to guide instruction. By the end of the session, participants will walk away with practical tools and resources to implement small-group strategies that promote equitable learning outcomes and enhance student engagement in mathematics.

Early identification of speech and language challenges is crucial for student success in the classroom. This workshop will equip educators with the knowledge and tools to recognize speech and language difficulties that may require further assessment. Participants will learn the key developmental milestones, common red flags, and best practices for collaborating with speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and families.
