Through presentation and interactive participation attendees will learn how the home learning environment shapes the student mindset in both constructive and deleterious ways. Attendees will have the opportunity to draw upon their own home learning environment and reflect upon the advantages and/or disadvantages they encountered. They will also explore research based pragmatic strategies to assist students in overcoming cultural barriers while maintaining cultural connections.
